When we were kids, a sandbox was all we needed to dream big. One minute it was a construction site, the next it was a dinosaur world, and by the end of the day it somehow turned into a beach vacation. But as parents, we noticed something funny: the sandboxes we loved growing up? They’ve practically vanished. And we weren’t ready to let that kind of magic disappear for our own kids.
So we built Urban Dunes—a bright, joyful, imagination-powered indoor sandbox playground right here on the Upper East Side. With three uniquely themed sand zones, little explorers ages 0–9 can dig, build, roar, scoop, sculpt, and dream up adventures of their own. Whether they’re operating giant construction rigs, uncovering dinosaur fossils, or creating the world’s wobbliest sandcastle, every handful of sand invites creativity, curiosity, and big smiles. At Urban Dunes, play isn’t just encouraged—it’s limitless.

Our Story
When we were kids, sandboxes were everywhere—tiny universes where imaginations ran wild. We built cities, created creatures, and invented entire adventures before dinner. But as parents today, we noticed something missing: those magical sand-filled worlds had all but disappeared. We wanted our own kids to experience that same simple, creative joy.
So we created Urban Dunes—a bright, joyful, imagination-powered indoor sandbox playground in the heart of the Upper East Side. With three themed sand zones, little explorers ages 0–9 can dig, build, roar, scoop, sculpt, and dream up adventures of their own. At Urban Dunes, every grain of sand has a story to tell.
Our Vision
At Urban Dunes, our vision is simple: bring back pure, hands-on play. In a world full of screens and structured schedules, we believe kids need space to imagine freely, explore boldly, and get a little sandy along the way.
We’re building a community hub where creativity comes naturally, friendships form organically, and families can make memories together. Our goal is to spark curiosity, inspire confidence, and make playtime feel magical again—one sandbox at a time.

Urban Dunes was created by parents who still remember the joy of digging into a fresh pile of sand. Our team is made up of dedicated play enthusiasts, creative thinkers, and child-loving crew members who care about making every visit special.
